New Song Covenant Church
WHO WE ARE
New Song Church is a community
of people from all walks of life who are seeking to learn more about Christ
in our post modern world.
We began in the fall of 1998 and are currently meeting at Anchorage First
Covenant Church on Sunday evenings.
NEW SONG IS
Evangelical but not exclusive.Biblical, but not doctrinaire
Congregational, but not independent
We are post-modern
New Song takes
its name from Psalm 40:1-3 a psalm of David
I waited paitently for TheLord:
he turned to me and herd my cry
He lifted me out of The slimey pit,
out of The mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand
He put a NEW SONG in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
many will see and fear
and put their trust in the Lord
The word New Song is also located in Psalms 33:3 and 98:1 and 149:1
New Song is also part of a larger group known as The
Evangelical Covenant Church, a denomination of more than 800
churches in the United States and Canada. Swedish immigrants
founded it in 1885 as a voluntary covenant of churches committed to working
together to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Covenant Churches
emphasize the Bible's witness to new life in Jesus Christ expressed in
a day-to-day walk with the Lord.
